Open the app, enter your take home pay for the month, then add categories for what you plan to spend, rent, groceries, giving, whatever fits your life. As you assign dollars to each category, left to budget counts down to zero. Once it reaches zero, every dollar has a place to go.
Open Household from the More tab and choose Invite someone else. Send the invitation any way you like, once it is accepted, you both see the same categories, transactions, and funds, and an activity feed shows who changed what.
Bank sync uses SimpleFIN Bridge, a service that connects to your bank and is separate from Persue Budget. You set up your own SimpleFIN account and pay SimpleFIN directly, Persue Apps has no part in that charge and does not mark it up. Once connected, transactions sync into the app for review before anything is added to your budget.
SimpleFIN issues a one time Setup Token that your device exchanges for a lasting connection the first time you use it. That exchange is intentionally single use, it is what keeps the credential tied to one device. If a token stops working, generate a fresh one from SimpleFIN and connect again.
Persue Budget copies your private budget once a day. To restore, open Settings, then Backups, choose a date, and confirm. The app saves your current data first, so a restore never destroys anything without a copy left behind.
Open Settings inside the app to control bill reminders, the nightly digest, and place based reminders individually, or open iOS Settings, Notifications, Persue Budget to turn all of them off at the system level.
When enabled in Settings, the app asks for Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode whenever it opens. It is a privacy screen for your budget, not an additional layer of encryption, and your device passcode always works as a fallback.
Use Reset in Settings to clear your budget from this device and, if you confirm, from iCloud as well. Deleting the app alone leaves your iCloud copy in place, so remove it from your iPhone's Settings under your Apple ID if you want it gone everywhere.
