Privacy policy

Persue Budget is built so that your financial life stays yours. This page explains, plainly, what the app stores, where it stores it, and what Persue Apps LLC can and cannot see.

Your budget lives on your device and in your iCloud

Every budget, category, transaction, and fund you create is stored on your iPhone and mirrored to your own private iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit. Persue Apps does not operate a server for your budget data and cannot read it. If you have never signed in to iCloud, the app still works, and your data simply stays on the device.

Sharing a budget with your household

If you invite someone to share your budget, the shared lines, transactions, and funds move into a shared CloudKit record that both of you can read and write. Only the person you invite, using the invitation you send from the app, is added. Persue Apps has no visibility into a shared budget's contents.

Connecting a bank with SimpleFIN

Bank sync is powered by SimpleFIN Bridge, a service you set up and subscribe to yourself, separate from Persue Apps. When you connect an account:

• The app stores your SimpleFIN access credential in your device's Keychain only, marked so it never leaves that device and never syncs anywhere, including iCloud.
• Transactions and account balances are fetched directly from SimpleFIN and then stored with your budget, on your device and in your private iCloud, the same as any other transaction.
• Persue Apps never receives your bank credentials and never sees your SimpleFIN access token.

On device intelligence

When Apple Intelligence is available and enabled, Persue Budget uses it to help sort incoming transaction descriptions to the right category. That processing happens entirely on your device using Apple's Foundation Models. Nothing about your transactions, merchants, or spending is sent to Persue Apps or to any server for this purpose, and the feature never touches or calculates an amount.

Saved places

Saved places are optional. If you turn them on, the app monitors a small radius around locations you choose so it can remind you to log a purchase, using iOS's geofencing. Your saved places, the geofences built from them, and your visit history all stay on your device. None of it is uploaded to iCloud or to Persue Apps.

Notifications

All notifications, including bill reminders, the nightly digest, and place based reminders, are scheduled and delivered locally by iOS. Persue Apps does not operate a push notification service and does not know when or whether you receive a notification.

What we do not do

Persue Budget has no analytics, no advertising, and no third party SDKs of any kind. There is no tracking across apps or websites, and nothing about your usage is sold or shared.

Purchases

The lifetime unlock is a one time purchase processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. Persue Apps receives confirmation that an entitlement was purchased, but no payment or card details, which stay with Apple.

Deleting your data

You can remove your data at any time in one of these ways:

• Delete the app, then remove Persue Budget's iCloud data from your iPhone's Settings under your Apple ID, iCloud, Manage Storage.
• Use Reset inside the app's settings, which sets your local stores aside and, if you confirm, removes the iCloud copy as well.

Children

Persue Budget is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will change with it. Meaningful changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
